Colorado Municipal League is pleased to present the 2010 “If I Were Mayor…” essay contest, open to all 7th grade students across the state.
This year we are very excited to have Bernie Buescher, Colorado Secretary of State, serving as honorary chairman of our contest! The Secretary is passionate about keeping young people involved and engaged and strongly supports our efforts to educate our future leaders on the importance of municipal government.
Four winners will receive a certificate of achievement, a $500 savings bond, and an invitation for their parents and teachers to attend the 2010 CML Conference in June in Breckenridge to receive their award and present their essays during the Elected Officials Lunch.
For more information download the attached brochure from the CML website at http://www.cml.org/pdf_files/09_mayor.pdf
Entries are due to the CML office by Tuesday, April 13, 2010.
