Abraham Maslow made up a list of certain values, which he called Being-values,  which characterize what he called self-actualizing people. He also outlined what he termed a “hierarchy of needs,” namely physical, security, social, status, and self-fulfillment needs, and he identified characteristics of what he called “peak experiences” and “self-transcendence.” We will outline these various aspects of creative living and their relationship to psychological health, and explore practical ways to use them to enhance our lives and satisfaction.
