Date: Monday, March 15
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

The art of buttons? You remember playing with your mother’s or grandmother’s or great-grandmother’s button box or jar or tin. Did you think they were beautiful? Buttons were once listed in estate holdings. They were removed from garments and passed on to future generations. More recently, households have long followed the practice of snipping buttons from clothing headed for the ragbag. Who wore buttons first, men or women?

Join Jane Hill, as she discusses button collecting, how to clean, preserve, and value, and get your own collection going. She will bring along some of her collection and share interesting facts about buttons. You are also welcome to bring along your button box to look at with others. It should be a fun and lively discussion.
