Ireland is an island and as such it was relatively immune from usual invasions once it had acquired a fairly large population. Unhampered by the distractions of invasion, Ireland’s Milesian culture advanced into matters of the arts and entered a “golden age” that lasted for nearly two millennia. This “golden age” ended rather abruptly when the vikings came in the late 8th Century. Instructor: Francis Lovett.
